HOW IT FITS: UNDERSTAND, DESIGN, BUILD, RUN

Understand

Two to four weeks with the people who do the work. You get a plain report: what can be automated, what it would save, and what we would leave alone.

Design

We agree the rules, the exceptions and what a person still decides. Scope and price are fixed in writing.

Build

Six to fourteen weeks, with working progress every week. We test against your real past work until the output matches.

Run

Your team is trained and we stay on for support and hosting if you want us to.

WHAT IT COSTS AND HOW IT RUNS

Automation projects usually sit between £5k and £50k, fixed price, agreed before we start. A first process review is a smaller piece of work and is often where we begin.

Some automation is a few days of work joining two systems together. Some is a product in its own right. We will tell you which yours is on the first call.

QUESTIONS WE GET ASKED

How do we know which process to automate first?

Start with the one that is done most often, follows clear rules and takes skilled time. The Understand stage exists to answer this. You get a written recommendation, and sometimes the recommendation is to leave a process alone.

Will this replace our people?

In the work we have done, it has moved people from typing to checking. The estimator who used to type quotes now reviews them. The knowledge stays in the business and the routine part goes to the software.

Can you work with the systems we already have?

Usually, yes. Most of our automation reads from or writes to something the client already uses, such as an ordering portal, an accounts package or a spreadsheet. We check what is possible before we quote.

What happens when our rules change?

Rules are kept as settings where we can, so your team can change them without us. When a change needs new code, you ask and we quote it. You are not tied to a vendor’s roadmap.

How long before we see something working?

You see working progress every week during the build. A first version that handles the common cases normally arrives well before the end of the project.
