SERVICES / PROCESS CONSULTANCY

Operations consultancy for SMEs: find out why things take longer than they should.

Before anyone builds anything, we work out how the business actually runs. We talk to the people doing the work, follow a job from enquiry to invoice, and write down what we find.

WHO IT'S FOR

Owners, managing directors and charity leaders who know something is slow or fragile and cannot see exactly where. The business has grown, the way of working has not, and everyone is busy.

It also suits anyone about to spend serious money on software. A few weeks spent understanding the problem costs far less than a system that solves the wrong one.

PROBLEMS IT SOLVES

Work takes longer than it should and nobody can say whyA bottleneck everyone works around and nobody has namedYou are about to buy software and want a second opinionYou are buying a business and need to know what its systems are worthTeams blame each other for delays between themYou have been told you need AI and want an honest view

WHAT YOU GET

01

Process review

We map how work moves through the business, where it waits and where it goes wrong. The map shows what happens on a normal day, which is often different from the procedure.

02

Digital due diligence

An independent look at the systems and data in a business you are buying, investing in or inheriting.

03

Buy or build

A clear recommendation on whether a standard product will do the job or whether bespoke is worth it, with the costs of each over several years.

04

AI opportunity review

Where AI would save real time in your business, what it would cost, and what to ignore.

HOW IT FITS: UNDERSTAND, DESIGN, BUILD, RUN

01

Understand

This service is the Understand stage. It takes two to four weeks and ends with a plain report and a recommendation, even if the recommendation is to do nothing.

02

Design

If you go ahead, the report becomes the brief. We design the new process first and the system second.

03

Build

We can build what we recommend, in-house. You are free to take the report elsewhere.

04

Run

We train your team in the new way of working and stay on if you want us to.

WHAT IT COSTS AND HOW IT RUNS

A review is a fixed-price piece of work lasting two to four weeks, depending on how many teams and sites are involved.

Jon runs it himself. He has run businesses of his own and sits on the board of a £19m company where he redesigned the processes and systems, so he has been on your side of the table.

QUESTIONS WE GET ASKED

What do we get at the end?

A written report in plain English: how the work moves today, where the time goes, what we would change first and roughly what each change would cost. You can act on it with us, with someone else or on your own.

Will you just recommend software that you build?

No. We have recommended standard products, small changes to a spreadsheet, and doing nothing. The review is priced and sold on its own so the advice can be straight.

How much of our team’s time will it take?

A few conversations of about an hour each with the people who do the work, plus time for us to sit alongside them. We fit around the working day.

Do you work with charities?

Yes. The questions are the same: where does the time go, and what would free more of it for the work that matters to the people you serve.
